Re: G'day from Australia

Hey Vince . . . I recognize your name from BDLL and DL! Excellent post, and I echo your sentiment about finding my Linux home in Arcolinux (I came here from Antergos Linux when it ended). I have learned more and am happier since finding Arcolinux than any time in my Linux journey. So to Erik and eve...

Re: [OPEN]pamac-aur shows 1 update remains to update for dxvk-bin

A follow-up to a reply I just made (which I'm leaving up in case it is able to help someone with a similar problem). Your issue with dvxk-bin duplicates here as well on command line and in pamac. In this case, it appears to be a change in versioning with no actual change in the software build (versi...

Re: [OPEN]pamac-aur shows 1 update remains to update for dxvk-bin

Hello papanyopaysa . . . I have also had the false positive of certain packages (including variants of dxvk) flagging in pamac. It seems that sometimes (though not all) this occurs in software that have been installed/updated via pamac as opposed to command line utilities. One solution that has work...

Re: [OPEN] ArcoLinux Version LTS

Hey goltrek . . . "LTS" means it is using the "long term support" kernel instead of the newest one. It helps people with some hardware be able to run Arcolinux if the regular kernel doesn't work. There are "LTS" versions of all the iso's built in July. Hope that's helpful.

Re: Hello ArcoLinux Guys

Welcome to Arcolinux! I also migrated to Arco from Antergos a few months ago, and so far, I've enjoyed Linux more and learned more than I ever did in 15 years of using Linux before. Re the wallpaper: as others said before, Variety is what is used. If you don't like it, you can always uninstall it. I...

Re: How can I chang the swappiness?

Hello philotux . . . Your topic is my first introduction to the concept of "swappiness". In the Arch Wiki article on "swap", their prescription for adjusting swappiness is a little different than what you wrote that you did. Instead of creating/editing a file /etc/systctl.conf, the Arch Wiki suggest...

Re: [OPEN] Dual boot: Arco's grub doesn't recognize other distro

Losgann . . . I have a suggestion (applicable only if you have a system with UEFI): as your computer is going through its initial pre-boot process (before any GRUB menu comes up), there should be a way to access a menu typically labeled "Boot Options" (on my system it's F12 but sometimes it's F2 or ...

Re: [SOLVED] Timeshift is not creating automated backups. Cron?

Hello @vancouver. If you go into the TimeShift Settings menu under the Schedule tab, you should have options related to how many backups of each type are kept. If it's not automatically following those settings, I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it. Here is a screenshot of my settings for an example:...

Re: Update to 5.2.5-arch1-1-ARCH killed Conky & psensor

Tom . . . I'm not sure about "psensor", but my conky manager and conky toggle stopped working after that update. When I ran conkyzen in a terminal, it generated a message that a particular file was not found -- "libXNVCtrl.so.0", which apparently was related to a recent update of some package associ...

Re: Hi World

Hi Lumix . . . welcome to Arcolinux. After over 10 years on Ubuntu and a couple of related flavors (e.g., Kubuntu), I finally decided to try a rolling distro when I found Antergos Linux (it was based on Arch). I loved it, and never thought twice about Ubuntu after that. When Antergos ended a couple ...
