Believe it is the kernel,
how can I install older kernel when installing?

Is the live mode running in ram or harddisk?
because on the hard disk is already LMDC18.3 LMDE 2 and manjaro

What action would I do if I were in your situation?

Test on other hardware if possible. Is it an hardware issue (can be kernel)?
Test with other arch linux based distro's - Antergos and Manjaro would be my choice.

Try to find the culprit.

manjaro-kde-17.1-rc4-stable-x86_64.iso,antergos-18.1-x86_64.iso
Hangs too
I'll test community version of majaro
Edit
I started with community version maroto-2017.09.13-x86_64.iso
unfortunately the same.
Now I test manjaro community.
Edit
manjaro community version hangs up.

Hi! and Happy New Year ! :)

This latest ArchMerge 6-3-1 (archmerge-v6.3.1-2017.12.23.iso) Hangs here on me also :(
Trying to (clean) reinstall it on REAL Hardware laptop (old but was running on ver 6-1-1 and 6-2-1 pretty well)
It boots up to live session – internet is connected, (all by the drill :D as have had already several others
ArchMerge distros on this same laptop)

Any way now installer hangs on 22% and all mouse , keyb. freezes, waited a hour ++, can’t do anything else than power off

I used Rufus (2-18 ...latest from rufus site ) for iso to USB using 4GB verbatim stick
ISO downloaded from SourceForge, everything seems OK with iso file, because was able to run live
And install from same iso file several VitualMachines (as Vbox Guests) on win10 ( 2 separate ) HOSTS used Vbox 5-2-4
So far so good :D
But then –after got ArchMerge 6-3-1 VM's installed as guest, boot up all works all OK ,
Unfortunately Problems on next boot right after first update - pacman –Syyu – reboot
and then somehow guest VM's gets fuck’d up  --

Don’t know what’s wrong, but after update, the boot procedure stops (blackScreen)
with some vbox ‘’Guru Meditation ‘’ error message shit, and that’s it
(Just for info, that I have also ver archMerge-6-2-1 on this same VBox same host and same shit happened to it
after update yesterday06/01/2018, so far as it seems like this last arch update trashed both releases :?:

I have Kali, Parrot OS – both debians, on same vbox 5-2-4.. on same W10pro (host)
I replayed the same scenario with these -- no problems so far

Have not tried archmergeD distro yet, may be later, but not sure how do I get this cool xfce desktop
or may be just setup new VM and delay updates? anyway not losing my hope yet

Ok sorry for this loooong story:) just typing ...to get some relief for my crazy hangover 8-)

Best Regards,
