[OPEN] Blackscreen after driver install for nvidia gtx1060

Post by Bertaga97 » Wed Feb 13, 2019 11:18 pm

Hello,
I am running on a GTX 1060 Mobile and I wanted to install proprietary drivers for performances purpose.
After installing the drivers as shown in the tutorial: I used

Code: Select all

sudo pacman -S nvidia
but I have a black screen at reboot.
I also tried (on a fresh install) to install the drivers using the nvidia website executable but it seems to freeze after detecting the number of CPU cores.
So I tried to use the advice in the troubleshooting page but nothing changed so I don't know what to do and I find nothing on the internet.
Someone has a solution?

https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverR ... 1700/en-us

this seems to be the driver

I suppose you checked the wiki

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA

there i find on this page

https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/CodeNames/

that yours is this code

gtx 1060 = NV136 (GP106) GeForce GTX 1060

Are you on a mac? What year? Version?

https://tubecurated.com/egpu-nvidia-gef ... primusrun/

Asus has it too...

What drivers have you tried?
Did you try to blacklist your other graphical card?
