[CLOSED] Translate mimetype readme and associate the translation to the info icon.

Post by EmiliaTrollrosse » Sun Jun 02, 2019 10:37 pm

I'm trying to get swedish language settings (sv_SE) everywhere.

Wishes: It would be nice to have a category here in the forum for translation questions.

Image

1. How do I translate the mimetype readme to läsmig (lasmig with two dots over the a.)

2. How do I associate all files with the name "readme", no matter which language or file-extension, to the info icon.
in the attached image I have made files with extensions no-extension .mom and .txt.
All the files have the same text inside. With no text inside the file, the info icon won't show.

3. How do I do this persistent for new Arch/Arco-installs?
I changed the translationfile "x-readme.xml" (se attached image at Typ:) in:
/usr/share/mime/text/

From:

Code: Select all

<comment xml:lang="sv">README-dokument</comment>
To:

Code: Select all

<comment xml:lang="sv">LÄSMIG-dokument</comment>
Thanks for a great distribution to learn linux in depth!
Best regards, Emilia.

I think the best thing to do on the long term is actually become part of the translationteam at XFCE for example if that is your desktop.

Have you tried Plasma?
I wonder if they did a better work in translating.

Doing everything yourself is not the way. Join a team and do it together.

Thanks for the tips. I'll join some translation teams.

I''ll play around and se if I can figure out the other questions. The text readme seems to be a prefix.
