[SOLVED] mount ntfs and nas folder on start

Post by Borix » Sat Feb 10, 2018 9:58 pm

Hi all,

Is there an easy way of making ntfs and nas folders available on start?
Now I have to use Thunar every time after a reboot to make these folders available for music playback.

Hi bazeeel,

Thank you for your help.
I have ntfs-3g installed, looks like a terminal tool to me :)
Will look in to fstab.

You can find more info about it on the Arch Wiki.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NTFS-3G

and this one for the nas

Thanks for the help.

The problem with the mounting of the ntfs partion has been solved with the help of Disks, which has created the necessary entry in the fstab file for me :)

Now on to the nas folders... will let you know when solved..,

Edit: solved the nas folders with the help of Gigolo, a very helpful gui tool
(sorry to the terminal purist here ;) )

I've the same problem, I've installed a second HD in a laptop ,and each time I start the laptop I've to login for mounting the HD.
I've tried https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NTFS-3G ,but it doesn't work!
Is there a other way?

Reading this text I would google "arch linux automount harddisk".

This is one of the links

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fs ... th_systemd

Add options to the fstab.

You can also use the gui - disks application to do the same thing.
