[SOLVED] Pamac Starts then stops directly

Post by Ozviking »

When I click on the icon for updates (pamac) it starts the stops directly, tried through the terminal and got a lot of errors like couldn't find the repository and so on...
I thought it was because I was using Archmerge and the packages was obsolete, decided that I would do a fresh install with Arcolinux, and did so......worked like a breeze :D
Then I decided to install a program for my Synology NAS, enabled AUR's and installed what I needed ...all good so far until I disabled AUR's and same thing again, exactly same clicked on the update software icon and it started for 1 second then gone....
Hmmmm got very annoyed did a lot of Google searches and finally found one that said that you have to reinstall pamac.
Here is what I did:
I downloaded from here: " https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/pamac-aur/ " the package to be installed (download snapshot) then extract and open the folder in a terminal and type makepkg -sri
That worked a treat got back to where it should be :D
Later that day I learned another way fixing it, thanks to Arcolinux tutorials u-tube video: open terminal and type : trizen pamac-aur then follow the instructions to get it installed ;)
Anyway what have I learned from this.....that never give up there will always be someone that will post something that will help you.....hoping that this will help someone in the future
