[SOLVED] Problems installing ArcoLinuxD to usb hdd

hello,

I installed arcolinuxd to my external usb disk
when i boot into it grub comes up intram also

And then fall back shell erorr can't find new_root
On resume uuid "something"( ithink its the swap partition) but is created!

has anyone tryed install to usb hdd?

Thought uuid is every time the same after install.

where is my mistake

Do not make it too difficult for yourself... putting linux on an external drive needs you to have a grub that is correct but also an fstab that is correct.

Google for install linux on external harddisk.

Thanks but didn't solve problems!

Always :

ERROR: resume: hibernation device ' uuid=some numbers and alpha characters' not found

You need to know the exact number of your external harddisk.

chroot from live usb/dvd of arcolinuxd close the installer and hit <strg-alt-t>

Change mkinitcpio.conf line hooks= base udev ....
After udev add block

Then mkinitcpio -p linux

So can you make Calamares put the hooks in the correct order?
I've had this issue, too and would have wished for the installer to do the job itself.

I don't find it unusual to install ArcoLinux on a USB stick, or better an external SSD, which is blazingly fast on USB 3.0 / 3.1.
I've done it even with LUKS and a fully encrypted drive (boot, root and home).
