[CLOSED] Space overfill - /tmp too small

Post by Shindu » Mon Apr 16, 2018 9:04 pm

Hey arcolinux i have a problem. When I update all the programs out of the aur. After some bigger applications like android-studio I get an error, the error says my disk space is to small. My question is how can I allocate more space? btw. every process gives me an error that my disk space is to small even the autocompletition wtf? When I reboot I have all space back. I think its because the temp folder is then full oder the partition is full.

Without knowing anything about system / hardware nobody can help :?
perhaps start these commands first in terminal : to see RAM and Disk space

Code: Select all

free -h

Code: Select all

df -h
for more system info :

Code: Select all

inxi -F

This sample below is just one of my desktop

Code: Select all

[foo@maximus ~]$ free -h
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 3,9Gi 459Mi 2,8Gi 60Mi 650Mi 3,1Gi
Swap: 8,5Gi 0B 8,5Gi
Total: 12Gi 459Mi 11Gi
[foo@maximus ~]$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
dev 2,0G 0 2,0G 0% /dev
run 2,0G 9,1M 2,0G 1% /run
/dev/sda1 220G 15G 194G 8% /
tmpfs 2,0G 0 2,0G 0% /dev/shm
tmpfs 2,0G 0 2,0G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs 2,0G 33M 1,9G 2% /tmp
tmpfs 395M 24K 395M 1% /run/user/1000
[foo@maximus ~]$
------------
For the AUR -> install Disk space error
there is a Command in '' Mr. ERIK '' scripts and also a YTub tutorial on ERIK 's YT channel

i will drop it here - but all CREDITS TO THE AUTHOR of this :D

Code: Select all

#sudo mount -o remount,size=5G,noatime /tmp
:)
