[SOLVED] Keyboard doesnt always register every key

Post by bitje » Tue May 29, 2018 12:10 pm

Hi all

Im having an issue with my keyboard.
I have been plagued by this when i used arch and i just started having the same issue here after my last reboot.
I didnt change anything so i dont think i screwed something up. I rebooted bacause the software updater kept crashing. It still does

I have a Microsoft Sculpt wireless keyboard

The problem is that for some reason at random times some of the keys (which is also random) stop responding. I can hit the key 20 times and nothing happens. it slowly starts responding again after hitting other keys.

When i pull out the usb reciever and put it back in the problem goes away for a few minutes.
The biggest problem is that it takes time to see if it is fixed or not because sometimes it takes several hours before it starts to happen again.

This is so frustrating. When this happens i cant do anything without feeling the urge to break my keyboard.
I didnt have this problem in windows so my keyboard is working fine. for now.

Im sure it would be helpfull to give you guys some extra info one some things but i dont know what.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Maybe you can try out the program keyTouch and see if it solves your problem.

I will give it a shot.

Took me about 30 seconds to be able to write the word give¨ pfff..

Thanks for the suggestion.

EDIT-- The program has no support for my keyboard so i guess thats why it makes no difference.

I do not want to shock you or be funny.
I stopped buying wireless and bluetooth mice and keyboards a long time ago.
No frustration on my end.

I know what you mean.

Im going to get a wired replacement keyboard tomorrow and use that till this is fixed.

I love this keyboard (when it works).

I just dont get why it has this random key lag on linux. I have no issues in windows
