[INFO] linux-lts or linux - two kernels - freezing computers

Post by erikdubois » Sat Jan 05, 2019 7:51 am

With freezing computers you should immediately think - change kernel - change graphical drivers

This article is about changing the kernel

Linux-lts stands for long time support and is your linux kernel.
Linux is you super recent kernel with all the latest additions for hardware support. That is the one you get with the installation.

Want to try it out then you should know that we provide you with the correct scripts to do it.

Check the folder

Code: Select all

~/.bin/main
There you have one that installs the lts kernel and one that removes it again.

Use at own risk. Backup before you try.

Using cloud services is recommended. That way you have a backup at any time.
