This seems like a good opportunity for me to get a better understanding of git diffs.
I'm not sure what I commented out, and there are so many options in that package.
...
It was in 300-software-AUR-repo; the package, paper-icon-themes, causes the script to loop and crash.
Now I guess I'll learn about the ArchLinux recommended way to notify package maintainers about issues? It's gonna happen, no biggie. Good times.
...
Still not sure if that is the package that is preventing the login box to display? Still looking into it.

You can check our arcolinux packages as well.

We have our own lightdm packages.
Learn, have fun and enjoy.
But first use the power of the Arch Wiki
use the tutorials on https://www.youtube.com/erikdubois
then use the power of google
then use the power of our moderators.

I think this whole issue has been the result of a mistake on my part; assuming that autologin wasn't working correctly.

The blank screen I referred to doesn't actually require me to type in my user name, I was doing so as a habit from the first install when I, impatiently and mistakenly, assumed arcolinuxd was hanging.

Please mark as solved.

Apologies for not noticing this sooner. Thanks again for all the help.
