[SOLVED] xf86-video-sisimedia anymore ?

Post by heebo » Sun Nov 17, 2019 4:28 pm

Hello all,
I have this old Packard Bell laptop with Sis 671 graphic chip and it will need xf86-video-sisimedia driver.
Arcolinux run fine with thah laptop, but I can't install that sisimedia driver and I have to use vesa driver which is quite a pain.
Is there anyway that I could install that driver ? Problem seems to be too new xorg.
X-ABI-VIDEODRV_VERSION<23, X-ABI-VIDEODRV_VERSION>=24, xorg-server<1.19

I see it on AUR and it is out of date.

You can check the pkgbuild and see if you can update it yourself.

But first use the power of the Arch Wiki
use the tutorials on https://www.youtube.com/erikdubois
then use the power of google

Unfortunately I don't know how to edit pkgbuilds or patch things. :)
But I know that it is possible to get it working, because I tried PCLinuxOS live cd and it includes working sisimedia driver.
I just would like to use arch. :)
