[CLOSED] ArchMerge(D) i686

Post by tbatliner » Mon Dec 04, 2017 12:10 pm

Hi,

I tried to install AMD on an oooold Lenovo R60, 32bit only. I'm afraid I'll be out of luck as ArchMergeD is 64bit only?

Thanks and best regards,
Thomas

Arch linux has ended support for 32bit (i686). Archmerge and ArchMergeD is based on arch linux, so there is only 64 bit versions

Here is the arch news article to refer to https://www.archlinux.org/news/the-end-of-i686-support/

Thank you nickpetrov, yes I was aware of the "coming" end of i686 but I didn't think/know that it was coming so fast. Well what can you do, guess it's time to buy new hardware :D

There's a 32bit fork of Arch here: https://archlinux32.org/

You could use that as the basis of an ArcoLinux32 version.

We have enough work as is.

No support for 32 bits ever.
Learn, have fun and enjoy.
But first use the power of the Arch Wiki
use the tutorials on https://www.youtube.com/erikdubois
then use the power of google
