[OPEN] USB mouse issues on HP ENVY Laptop 17m-cg0xxx/875C, BIOS F.06 04/11/2020

I'm using arcolinuxb zen kernel with qtile... the kernel sees the mouse. I've tried different ports and different mice and nothing works. Power goes to the mouse (LED's light up) and looks like the kernel is seeing it but for whatever reason it still doesn't work as an input device. The touchpad works great out of the box so it's more of an annoyance not having a real mouse to work with but still would like to fix it.

I'm probably doing something stupid so if I am, sorry. Thanks for any help in advance.

Below is dmesg tail output

Code: Select all

[262393.742049] usb 3-2: new full-speed USB device number 8 using xhci_hcd
[262393.883631] usb 3-2: New USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=c332, bcdDevice= 3.00
[262393.883636] usb 3-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[262393.883639] usb 3-2: Product: Gaming Mouse G502
[262393.883641] usb 3-2: Manufacturer: Logitech
[262393.883643] usb 3-2: SerialNumber: 1861365C3336
